Bridges and Implants

Bruxzir Implant BridgeIt is a very traumatic experience to lose or chip a tooth. It is even worse should it leave a visible gap when you smile. It may look adorable in children, but as adults, the experience isn’t so welcoming. At Asera Dental, we would either recommend a bridge or an implant to resolve this problem.

bridgeA bridge is a treatment that uses the tooth/teeth on either side of the lost one, as anchors to hold the new replacement tooth. A bridge can be used to replace one or multiple missing teeth. It is then cemented onto the natural teeth surrounding the space.

An implant is a structure placed in the area of the missing tooth, where it is anchored to the jawbone. Patients are given anaesthetic for this procedure. It will take about six months for the jaw bone to hold and anchor the implant. The end result? Implants look and feel like natural teeth!

Either way, these treatments prevent teeth from shifting out of position, which can inevitably lead to a bad bite, gum disease or food impaction.

Crowns

crownAt Asera Dental, we use crowns (or caps) to restore the tooth to its normal shape and size, as well as strengthen and improve its appearance. These are typically used in procedures that require sealing of cracked teeth, supporting of large fillings, restoring fractured teeth, covering an implant, or covering badly shaped or discolored teeth.

There are several types of crowns, but the most popular ones are the porcelain crowns, as they resemble your natural teeth. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size and color of your teeth to give you a natural, beautiful smile.

Mercury-Free Fillings

We use Mercury-Free composite (tooth colored) fillings at Asera Dental to repair a tooth that is affected by decay or fractures. These composite fillings are tooth colored and can be closely matched to the color of your existing teeth.

Tooth colored fillings are stronger and look natural. Mercury amalgam fillings, aside from potential health risks, do not look natural, and can lead to cracked and weakened teeth.

The tooth colored fillings are bonded onto the tooth, and chemically hardened with a special light. The filling is then polished, so it feels smooth, like the rest of your teeth.
